About the Department
The Department of B.Com (Professional Accounting) strives to develop competent, ethical, and future-ready commerce professionals. The programme offers a strong academic foundation in financial, corporate, and cost accounting, along with comprehensive knowledge of taxation, auditing, and financial management. It bridges classroom learning with real-world business practices through practical and application-oriented training.
The curriculum is designed to meet modern industry needs and includes MS Office, Tally, R Programming, Python, FinTech, AI tools, and business applications to strengthen digital and analytical skills. The department is led by efficient and dedicated staff members who ensure quality teaching, continuous support, and personal mentoring. Learners are exposed to case studies, seminars, workshops, industrial interactions, and project-based learning.
Emphasis is given to hands-on experience in accounting software and problem-solving techniques. The course also lays a strong foundation for professional qualifications such as CA, CMA, ACCA, and other finance certifications. Students are trained to uphold ethical values, leadership qualities, and sound decision-making abilities. Overall, the department nurtures confident graduates equipped to succeed in accounting, finance, and technology-driven corporate environments.

Scope of the Programme
- To develop basic skills in the subjects of commerce and computer subjects.
- To expose the students to computer application in the field of commerce/business.

Capable of demonstrating comprehensive knowledge and understanding of one or more disciplines that form a part of an undergraduate Programme of study -
PO2: Communication Skills:
Ability to express thoughts and ideas effectively in writing and orally; Communicate with others using appropriate media; confidently share one’s views and express herself/himself; demonstrate the ability to listen carefully, read and write analytically, and present complex information in a clear and concise manner to different groups. -
PO3: Critical thinking:
Capability to apply analytic thought to a bodyof knowledge; analyse and evaluate evidence, arguments, claims, beliefs on the basis of empirical evidence; identify relevant assumptions or implications; formulate coherent arguments; critically evaluate practices, policies and theories by following scientific approach to knowledge development. -
PO4: Problem solving:
Capacity to extrapolate from what one has learned and apply their competencies to solve different kinds of non- familiar problems, rather than replicate curriculum content knowledge; and apply one’s learning to real life situations. -

Ability to evaluate the reliability and relevance of evidence; identify logical flaws and holes in the arguments of others; analyze and synthesize data from a variety of sources; draw valid conclusions and support them with evidence and examples, and addressing opposing viewpoints. -
